HRS to showcase solutions for the food industry at Pack Expo

Sept. 9, 2024
Technology on display will include equipment associated with heating and cooling, pasteurization, aseptic filling, pumping, ice re-melting and cleaning-in-place.

HRS Heat Exchangers will showcase their wide range of equipment for the food and beverage industry, including processes such as heating & cooling, pasteurization, aseptic filling, pumping, ice re-melting, cleaning-in-place (CIP) and waste stream at PACK EXPO International 2024 this November.

Heat exchangers play several important roles in food and beverage production, but it is important to choose the right technologies to maximize both process and energy efficiency. End users should consider the physical nature of the product and its potential for fouling, the ease of maintenance and the ability of the equipment to operate reliably for long periods of time. Factors such as energy efficiency, capital and operating costs are also crucial to the final choice of heat exchanger. Additionally, total cost of ownership should be considered, as units that are cheap to purchase often have higher running costs or lower operational efficiencies.

HRS Heat Exchangers produce a wide range of hygienic corrugated tube and scraped surface heat exchangers for the food and beverage sector. Their corrugated tube technology, as found in the HRS MI Series, improves energy efficiency, and allows exceptional heat transfer in a smaller package. For more challenging products which still require gentle handling (such as sauces and fruit mixes), the patented Unicus Series of reciprocating scraped surface heat exchangers, is ideal, while the rotating R Series is perfect for products requiring thorough mixing, such as mechanically recovered meat.

As well as heat exchangers, HRS produces a range of specialist equipment and complete systems including our Asepticblock pasteurizers and sterilizers, concentration and evaporation systems, their AF Series of aseptic fillers and the BP range of piston pumps. HRS also provides specialist systems for cleaning-in-place (CIP), direct steam injection (the DSI Series), and ice crushing & melting (the I Series).
