Advanced Material Processing and Automated Handling Solutions merge to form Akona Process Solutions

The material processing company Advanced Material Processing (AMP) and the material handling solutions company Automated Handling Solutions (AHS) have been merged and rebranded as Akona Process Solutions (Akona), a portfolio company of Chicago-based, May River Capital.

The new company will be headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with engineering, sales and service centers across the U.S. and Europe. Akona’s processing and handling equipment brands include Cablevey, Kason, Marion, and Spiroflow, which serve the food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and chemicals industries. The company hopes the merger will help address industry’s increasing desire for integrated, scalable, and efficient solutions. 

“Akona will provide a single-source solution for customers operating in some of the most complex and demanding industries,” said Seth Vance, CEO of Akona Process Solutions. “Through merging the capabilities of AMP and AHS, we are unlocking new possibilities for innovation and efficiency — and marking a critical step in our pursuit of delivering exceptional value and reliability to our customers globally.”

Akona’s product offerings include mixers, blenders, dryers, screeners, conveyors, bulk material filling and discharging systems, and integrated control solutions. By uniting complementary technologies and knowledge, the company hopes to help its customers streamline their operations, reduce downtime and improve productivity.
