A look at some of the newest flowmeter products in the marketplace.
1 | PROMAG W ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOWMETER
Endress+Hauser recently launched its Promag W electromagnetic flowmeter featuring the “0 x DN full bore” option, a solution for a close-knit pipeline network or obstacles in pipes. This is the first mag meter of its kind, providing maximum measuring performance without tube restriction, and thus without pressure loss. Promag W 300/400/500 flowmeters with the “0 x DN full bore” option measure with high accuracy (±0.5%), even directly downstream of pipe bends, T fittings or insertion devices. They are particularly suitable for installation in tight spaces because they do not need any inlet or outlet runs.
Based on a proprietary oval gear design, OG Series flowmeters are designed to give reliable performance in a wide range of applications. For more challenging applications, Hastelloy C is the material of choice for OG Series flowmeters. Hastelloy C has outstanding resistance to oxidizing and reducing agents, making it ideal for moderate to severe corrosive fluid handling and environments. Titan Hastelloy C OG flowmeters can withstand high temperatures and high pressures and can be fitted with a sensor for hazardous areas. When constructed from Hastelloy C, OG flowmeters are perfect for measuring flow at pressures up to 700 Bar and 150°C.
Flow Technology Inc. introduced the QCT Series of in-line ultrasonic flowmeters for use in low-viscosity liquid applications. The QCT Series is a compact, versatile solution for measuring low viscosity liquids in a wide range of industries such as chemical, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical. The meter’s construction makes it the meter of choice for many high purity and corrosive fluids. Typical applications include water treatment for boilers and cooling towers, clean-in-place systems, mechanical seal flushing/cooling, high purity water systems, process water, cooling loops, reverse osmosis systems and small line injection systems.
ProSense FG1 Series mechanical variable area flowmeters provide visual indication of flow rate for water or petroleum-based fluids. These meters provide +/-5% full scale accuracy and a repeatability of +/-1%, important for cyclical applications requiring consistent readings. Two adjustable flow limit pointers are available to provide preset indication of high, low or normal flow rates. The flowmeters are constructed of high-impact polysulfone plastic with brass fittings. FG1 series flowmeters are available with ½-inch, ¾-inch or 1-inch NPT process connections and have easy-to-read flow scales.
