Discontinuous ECD (Easy Clean Design) vertical ribbon mixer provides fast and reliable mixing of all types of powders and bulk solids. Vertical ribbon mixer is available with mono- or bi-rotor mixing shafts and is designed for hygienic and sanitary applications in the food, dairy and pharmaceutical sectors. Unit’s spiral mixing blade provides a three-dimensional mixing effect for thorough mixing regardless of the materials to be mixed. This 3D mixing affect is accomplished by the helical movement of the central blade, which creates upward material movement at the vessel’s periphery and downward flow in the vessel’s center. Mixer’s shaft bearings are located above the mixing media and do not contact the blended material. Mixer’s advantages include small dimensions, an included discharge valve, wide doors to maximize accessibility, clean-in-place (CIP) functionality, optional side shear blades, polished welded parts for a hygienic finish, multiple material inlet options and the option to mount the unit on load cells for dosing operations.
